Pork Chops and Sauerkraut

My husband is of German ancestry and so this recipe was common in his household growing up. It is really tasty and fairly simple.

4 pork chops/ pork steaks (thin pork chops—less than 1 inch)
2 small cans of sauerkraut, or one big jar, undrained
2 small cans of whole stewed tomatoes (1 quart/32 oz)
4-5 slices of bacon, fried and pieced
1/4 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. Celery seed
Small-medium onion diced

Chop up bacon and then fry the onion. In another skillet, brown meat- sear it till crispy brown. In a large bowl, stir in sauerkraut, tomatoes, sugar, celery seed, onions, and bacon. Put in a 9x13 casserole dish. Then top with pork chops. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees.
