Blue Orange Green Pink Purple

Josh's Cajun Shrimp

My husband came up with this wonderful recipe, and has become quite famous for it (at least at our house anyway).  He came up with it after eating blackened bbq shrimp at a cajun restaurant we like to go to.  It works great with pasta, as a surf and turf (steak and shrimp), as an appetizer, or just with a baked potato and veggie.

Ingredients:
1 lb. cooked shrimp, thawed, peeled
1 tbl. olive oil
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. onion powder
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. paprika
1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp. thyme
1/2 tsp. black pepper
dash of oregano
2 tbl. butter, salted

Directions:
In a medium size bowl toss shrimp with the olive oil until well coated.  Add in spices until evenly distributed.  (Sometimes I put the shrimp in a ziploc bag, coat with olive oil and spices and shake to distribute them.)

Melt 2 tbl. butter in a sautepan on high.  Add shrimp when the butter starts to sizzle.  Turn down the heat to medium low.  Add seasoned shrimp and saute lightly stirring or tossing for 3-5 minutes.
